Principal, Lead Project Designer
Born in New Haven, CT, William grew up as an artistic and ambitious child always wanting to create.
He began his first architecture fellowship in 2012-2013 at a local firm in New Haven, CT called Buchanan Architects LLC where the late George Buchanan would become his early mentor. George was an architect from New Jersey that graduated from Yale University in 1962 and started his local practice in the Yale New Haven area where William grew up. There he gained his origins in architecture; learning how to draft, model, read CDs, and survey in the field.
His exceptional academic and extracurricular records propelled him to being top 15% in his graduating class in 2014 from Hamden High School in CT. He applied and got accepted into many of the top architecture programs in the country such as UVA, Univ of Miami, Syracuse, NC State, and others.
After long deliberation, William became a Terrapin and attended the Univ of MD, College Park in 2014.
There, William's architecture career would flourish. He helped to create a NOMAS (National Minority Architecture Students) chapter at the university that hadn't been active, excelled in his academia, and gained valuable life connections that he would forever be grateful for.
Following his graduation in 2018 from UMD with his Bachelor of Science in Architecture, William first worked for a residential architecture firm in Charlotte, NC called Cox & Architecture. After his brief time with the company, William found a more diverse role with JMT in Towson, MD where he got the chance to design commercial institutions.

Being of African American and Cape Verdean descent, William's family influenced him tremendously from a young age. He was able to travel and see different parts of the country; taking in sights and making ever-lasting connections.
He attended St. Brendan Catholic School of New Haven from Kindergarten through middle school. Raised in a religious family, he also grew up in the church doing usher duty, singing in the choir, and countless hours of bible study/class. Community service and outreach has been apart of William's life since he was little as well. By high school, sports and architecture began to take over his life.
